Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators (CCMA)

After four years as a CCMA Applicant School, we finally received full CCMA accreditation. Accreditation means we are now recognized as a school that offers authentic Montessori education.

The Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators (CCMA) is an organization that is dedicated to upholding standards of excellence in Montessori education. The CCMA is the only organization to actually inspect Montessori schools to ensure that they are providing authentic Montessori education.

CCMA accreditation is a long, rigorous process, so parents who choose a CCMA-accredited school can be secure in the knowledge that their children are receiving an education which is approved by the Montessori family. 

Many parents don’t realize that the Montessori name was never copyrighted. This means any program can call itself a Montessori School providing genuine Montessori education. All licensed child care programs, including Montessori Schools, Waldorf Schools, etc., are inspected by the Ministry of Education to ensure that they are offering a safe, healthy environment for children. 

However, the CCMA is the only organization Canada-wide to inspect Montessori Schools to ensure that they are offering authentic Montessori education to children. Parents need to know that they are getting what they are paying for. The only way to ensure this is to enroll your child in a CCMA-accredited school.

Canadian Association of Montessori Teachers (CAMT)

Our school is a member of the Canadian Association of Montessori Teachers (CAMT) The goal of CAMT is to maintain and improve the quality of Montessori education in Canada. Our staff benefits from the various updates CAMT issues on developments in early childhood education and from the various conferences which they hold.

The North American Montessori Teachers Association (NAMTA)

We are also a member of The North American Montessori Teachers Association (NAMTA), which provides support to Montessori schools and teachers by way of publications, conferences and seminars.

Awards of Excellence

The Montessori School of Wellington received an Award of Excellence for ‘Best Practices in Early Childhood Education’ from Wellington County Child Care Services and the Ontario Early Learning Centre.
